A
non-resident can purchase property in Mauritius through this property scheme
since the 29th of November 2007.
These residences include amenities and other facilities as well as day-to-day management services such as security, maintenance, gardening, solid waste disposal and household services.RES units do not have a minimum selling price, so you will be able to find quality properties at reasonable prices (starting at approx. 150.000 euro)
A project under the RES is developed on freehold land.
All persons intending to acquire a residential property under IRS and RES shall require an approval from the Mauritian Board of Investment.Residency is now provided to the buyer of a residential property under RES for a minimum investment of 500.000 dollars (or equivalent)
The regulations also provide for where a property is acquired by foreigners, the investment must be financed from funds outside Mauritius and where a loan is taken with a bank in Mauritius, the whole amount should be in USD, EURO or GBP.
